Those of us who are seeing/have seen a counselor have all been here.
You know you want someone to journey with you but where do you start and how do you find someone you like?
Sharing your grief, loss, trauma, life stressors, and other intimate details about your life is important and a great responsibility.
The type of therapist that is best for you might vary depending on what you are going through and what is important to you.
One place many people look is on Psychology Today.

By clicking on the link above, you can search for a therapist by name or by city and zip.
If you do not know the name of someone and just search by city/zip, you will then see there are filters you can use to narrow your search. (male, female, in-person, online for instance)
Once you find a few people, you can click on their pages and see their credentials, a little bit about them, what is important to them, and of course, how to get in touch with them.
If you are curious, you can click on my Psychology Today link below and if I can help answer any questions in general, please reach out.
